My story
I have been immersed in horticulture for over 30 years now, gaining extensive experience across the garden centre industry in almost every managerial role, refining my expertise in customer service, team leadership and business operations. Along my horticultural journey, I've developed hands-on experience working with two respected landscaping and garden maintenance businesses where I've gained valuable insights into the trade. As the previous owner of my own gardening business, I specialised in soft landscaping and garden maintenance, blending both my creative and practical expertise.
Qualified with a diploma in garden design from The Blackford Centre in Somerset (formerly known as the Institute of Garden Design), my extensive and diverse background allows for a unique approach that blends exceptional horticultural knowledge with creative design, ensuring that every project reflects the client’s vision while thriving in its environment. I prioritise clean lines, harmonious textures, strong form and the 'must have' movement. I take great pride in increasing bio-diversity in a garden, carefully selecting plants that encourage wildlife and pollinating insects, with bumble bees being my absolute favourite.
If these values resonate with you, please do get in touch so we may discuss working on a design for your garden.
My pledge to you
As a garden designer, I pledge to cultivate spaces that harmonize with nature, enhance beauty, and nurture life. I will honour the land, respecting its history and ecological balance, and work to create sustainable, resilient environments that enrich the human spirit.
I commit to listening to my clients’ visions, understanding their needs, and translating those into vibrant, functional landscapes.
In all my work, I will strive for integrity, collaboration, and a deep respect for nature’s rhythms, ensuring that every garden I design serves as a sanctuary for both people and wildlife. I call this 'mindful garden design' and is a design philosophy that values harmony, ecological responsibility and the emotional impact of outdoor spaces.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my story with you.
